August 12 & 13, Burnham-on-Sea Horticultural Show The sections in which competitors are invited to enter include floral art, junior, domestic, handicraft, amateur photography, pot plants, flowers, wines, fruit and vegetables. Visitors to the show will also be able to see entries of hand knitted soft toys, patchwork cushion covers, painting, landscape photographs and red and white homemade wine. The show is open to the public on Saturday, August 12 from 1pm until 6pm and on Sunday, August 13 from 10am until 4pm. The prize-giving and awards presentation ceremony will be held at 3pm on the Sunday. Admission to the event is free. September 30 - October 1, Autumn Lawn Care & Garden Machinery Weekend - Visitors will be provided with top tips and expert information about the best ways to look after their lawns this autumn. The event includes a free lawn care clinic. Guests will be able to bring in any weeds, problem grass or moss for a free diagnosis and get tips on how to grow and maintain a perfect lawn. Offers on machinery and demonstrations from suppliers.
October 14 & 15, Apple & Cider Weekend In association with the national organisation devoted to save traditional orchards, Common Ground, hundreds of varieties on show including many traditional Somerset varieties. Somerset cider and apple experts in-store offering free advice on selecting and growing apple trees in Somerset and making cider and juices. Free apple press. Bring your own apples for pressing or buy in-store and make you own apple juice. Apple games for the children. Fun and informative event for all the family. Includes traditional, Somerset rural arts and crafts and tasty local produce such as cheeses and chutneys for you to try before you buy.
October 19, Christmas Preview Night The chance to see Christmas in its full glory before everyone else! Starts 6.30pm and runs until 8.30pm. Event by invitation only.
Friday, October 27, Pumpkin Time - To tie in with Halloween - Free pumpkin carving workshops for children. Ask at reception for full details. Demonstrations on how you can create everything from sea monsters to cats from your pumpkins. Workshops at 11am and 3pm. Booking required.
November 25 & 26, Tree Weekend To tie in with National Tree Week. The garden centre will dedicate itself to trees. There will be an aboriculturalist and tree surgeon on site during the weekend to answer questions. Free displays and information about selecting, growing and caring for your trees. The event covers all trees from apples trees to Christmas trees. There will be a selection of saplings for sale priced £1 each and proceeds from the sale of these will be donated to charity. Also includes floristry and tree dressing displays.

January 3 and 10 Free Christmas Tree Shredding and Card Recycling Bring your traditional tree to us for shredding and collect your free bag of mulch.
